TL DR Getting one of each monster is a sorta unrealistic goal if you ask me. The bad part is that you're gonna have to shell out a lot of clams for those. The good part about those companies is that they tend to have releases of monsters that usually aren't common, like Gorosaurus. Then there's ridiculously expensive stuff X-Plus, Sideshow, and the statue companies. There's also stylized stuff like Marmit, which is neat if you're into that kind of style. Big prices are evened out by the fact you're getting top-notch sculpting and paintwork. Then you have the expensive stuff, like S.H.

A Movie Monster Series Godzilla 1954 will only set you back about 20 bucks, but a vinyl Titanosaurus will be in the 90-120 price range. Vinyls from Bandai Japan are sometimes in the same price range as the aforementioned companies depending on what vinyl you're planning to get. And for what they're worth, that's pretty damn good. At most, you'll probably only pay 30$ for figures from these companies give or take. NECA, Bandai Creations, Gashapons/minifigures and American companies like Diamond Select are usually the cheapest option. Most of it is mainly because some monsters rarely get figures, so when they do, it's either A.) Highly sought after or B.) Made by a company like X-Plus which always fetch high prices. If you're planning to get one figure of every monster, then yes, it will be very expensive. I just recently got a king Caeser Gashapon for 100 yen in japan but they go for 19 USD on Ebay. I personally have begun collecting Godzilla gashapon as they're a nice alternative, sure the figures are small(more shelf space!) but they're high quality and you can get them cheap if you know where to go. I got a really nice Kiryu and MKG vinyl for 30$ a pop. But when I used to get those figures they were well priced like 20$-30$. Only problem is that it's been a while since there's been a main godzilla movie so they're expensive now if you get one from like 10 years ago. If you want 12 inch vinyl figures from bandai those are fairly affordable and usually well detailed for what they are. With any collectible the more time that's passed the more difficult it is to find them and they get expensive. It also depends on how late you buy them. However, to collect them all is super expensive. If you have one monster/mech you really like, let's say Mougera, then it's cool to get an SH monster because the figure is super nice. However, they're worth the price as they're super detailed.
SH monster art and Xplus are expensive, especially if they're imports.
